Breadie’s Cafe, a new coffee shop next to One City Church Memphis, will open Friday, Oct. 16.
The artisan bakery and cafe, located at 120 N. East Yates Road, is tucked away in a neighborhood. It’s named after co-owner Chris Conlee’s late father, who for 40 years woke before sunrise to deliver bread to Memphians.
As a youngster, Chris Conlee often rode with his dad. “I grew up delivering bread to restaurants and grocery stores, and so his nickname was ‘Bread Man’ or ‘Breadie,’ so we thought that’d be a great name for this.” Conlee said his children called their grandfather Breadie, too.
