Once again this season, the Daily Memphian will be recognizing a high school football player of the week.

And we need you — our readers — to help.

Each Monday, will post several of the top performers from the previous week’s games. Readers can vote for their favorite until Thursday at 5 p.m., at which point the winner will be announced.

Here are the candidates from Week 1

Nate Brick, CBHS: The highly-regarded Brick got his sophomore campaign off to a terrific start against Fayette-Ware. Playing in just the first half, he completed 12 of 16 passes for 287 yards and four touchdowns as the Brothers posted a 56-6 victory.

Cayden Dixon, Briarcrest: Dixon — who played in Nashville in 2025 after spending his freshman year at Briarcrest — had a happy return against ECS. He completed 13 of 20 passes for 216 yards and three touchdowns in a 44-7 victory. With Dixon and the rest of the first string on the field, the Saints scored touchdowns on six of their seven possessions.

Jayden Marr, KIPP: Let’s hear it for the defense. Marr, a 6-foot-3, 295-pound junior defensive tackle, recorded six of his team’s 12 quarterback sacks in a 12-0 victory over Bluff City.

Raderius Robertson, Houston: Abe Felix. Lincoln Pare. Damon Sisa. Houston has had some outstanding running backs over the years. And Robertson has the potential to be as good — if not better — than all of them. The junior ran for 126 yards and scored four touchdowns as the Mustangs rolled past city rival Germantown, 40-6.

Khamoni Williams, Southwind: In his first game for the Jaguars after transferring from Memphis Business Academy, Williams made an instant and immediate impact. The senior — who is committed to Auburn — had an 88-yard touchdown run on his second carry of the game and finished with 161 on 11 attempts to help his team to a 36-28 victory over Lausanne.
