Standouts from Collierville, Fayette-Ware, Houston and Hutchison are up for player of the week consideration this week.

Five players from Class 1A state champion, Memphis Academy of Science and Engineering (MASE), headline the Tennessee Sports Writers All-State football teams for Class 1A, Class 2A and Class 3A.

The Tennessee Sports Writers Association’s all-state players include Houston’s Chandler Day, D.J. Miller and Andre Allen; Bartlett’s Geron Johnson and Austin Howard; Collierville’s Cooper Sherrod and Samuel Iroh and more.

Players include Tipton-Rosemark’s Nix Fullen, Lausanne’s Jawell Rodgers.

After being diagnosed with an aggressive form of throat cancer, Mike O’Neill decided to put his life story on paper and published a book.
