Eight Memphis players from this past season have until Friday to let Penny Hardaway know if they’d like to return to the Tigers in 2026-27.

“I don’t make any excuses for what’s happened, for what I’ve failed at,” Tigers basketball coach Penny Hardaway said after finishing 13-19 this past season. “But I know I can come back from failure.”

According to a news release issued by the Memphis athletic department, “... Hardaway announced structural changes within the men’s basketball program.”

Standouts from Arlington, Bartlett, CBHS, Collierville, ECS and Whitehaven are up for consideration this week. Voting ends at 5 p.m. on Thursday, March 19.
