Lawyers for three of the five former Memphis officers involved in the death of Tyre Nichols had filed motions to sever their cases, arguing they could not receive fair trials if all five face a jury together.
“Memphis will continue losing population as it has for the last three years if we do not get a handle on out-of-control crime. And our policies are moving in the wrong direction.”
Robert Clark, 58, of Travis County, Texas, is charged with nine counts of mail fraud. Clark’s indictment alleges that he began the scheme around December 2019.
MPD reported that three suspects armed with handguns robbed an employee who was putting cash into the ATM outside the bank.
The shooting happened during a Lil Baby concert Sept. 7 and resulted in critical injuries to one man.

The alleged victim, Elvis Hester, filed a grievance against Jones after Jones reportedly made threats of a sexual nature and refused to feed Hester.
With four weeks left until he’s scheduled to go to prison, former state Sen. Brian Kelsey appeared in federal court in Nashville on Thursday, Sept. 21 to argue that prosecutors violated his plea deal — and that he should remain free while the appeal plays out.

The suspect has not yet been identified or charged.
The 12th annual Memphis Walk a Mile in Her Shoes brought students, athletes, police officials, government employees and community members, some in high heels, to raise awareness.
