Additional charges revealed for teen accused in ‘watermelon man’ killing
A Memphis teen accused of killing a local watermelon vendor has a long list of prior charges. The Shelby County District Attorney General’s Office is seeking to transfer the accused teenager to adult court. (The Daily Memphian file)
Juvenile Court Magistrate Judge Mitzi Pollard read the additional charges during a Tuesday hearing and set a new hearing date.

Once an intern, he never left, joining the staff full-time in 2022 as an education reporter. He moved to public safety in 2023, where he covered some of the city’s biggest court cases, including the criminal trials for those charged in the deaths of Tyré Nichols and rapper Young Dolph.
