The Tennessee Press Association’s gubernatorial forum took place Tuesday, Oct. 27, at 7 p.m. Central Time.
TPA hosted the event at Middle Tennessee State University in Murfreesboro. The organization invited Republican candidate U.S. Sen. Marsha Blackburn, Democratic candidate and Memphis City Council member Jerri Green and independent candidates David Hatley and Lauren Pinkston to participate in the Q&A session.
Green, Hatley and Pinkston attended.
An MTSU student team produced the livestream in a studio setting where moderators asked the candidates questions submitted by TPA member news outlets from across the state. It was not open to the public.
The forum is the only nonpartisan event of its kind scheduled for the Nov. 3 election.
Founded in 1870, the Tennessee Press Association represents more than 133 print and digital news outlets across the state.
