NASHVILLE — A federal judge didn’t mean to pause meetings of the state-appointed Memphis-Shelby County Schools takeover board in July, he said during a hearing on Friday, Oct. 2.

But it is unclear what Crenshaw’s clarification from the bench may mean for control of Tennessee’s largest school system.
