At some point — no one really knows when — the saint’s relic made its way to Memphis as a donation to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital and has been in storage on its campus for 62 years.
Founded by the Sisters of Mercy in 1921, the parochial school ICCS shares a campus with the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception, the mother church of the Diocese of Memphis.
The school recently shuttered its all-girls high school program and switched to a classical education curriculum for its remaining students in grades K-8.
The Rev. Robert W. Marshall is expected to assume his new responsibilities in Louisiana in July. His installation and ordination are on hold until the faithful, perhaps only a percentage of their number, can gather.
